TransGlobe Property Management Services Frequently Asked Questions - Application Process

Moving to a new home is a stressful time for anyone. We hope the following FAQs assist in making our application process as simple as possible:

Question: What do you require to consider my rental application to be complete?
Answer: A properly completed rental application must:

  • Be completed by of all parties who will be living in the rental location who are over the age of eighteen years.
  • Be accompanied by copy of one piece of government issued photo proof of identification for each applicant, such as a driver's licence or passport.
  • Be accompanied by proof of income. You must provide a recent payroll statement, letter of employement or Notice of Assessment from Canada Revenue Agency in order to justify that your income is sufficient to quality for the rental payments.
  • Be accompanied by certified funds for Last Month Rent or Security Deposit
  • Be accompanied by a cheque for the first month's rental payment, which cheque must also be certified if (must be certified if application is moving in within 15 days).
  • Be accompanied by a signed Guarantor's Agreement if required
Please note that our suites are rented on a first come, first serve basis. We cannot hold any suite pending receipt of a complete rental application.

Question: Who is responsible to approve my rental application?
Answer: Our Regional Managers are responsible for reviewing and approving all rental applications for their specific region. Our applications are reviewed and processed using our approval criteria.

Question: How do I know when my rental application has been approved?
Answer: Once your rental application has been approved, you will be contacted by your Building Representative. At this time you can make arrangements to sign your lease, provide tenant insurance information and schedule your move in.

Question: Will a credit or police report be required as part of my rental application and if so, who is responsible for this cost?
Answer: We require a credit check for all rental applicants. Your permission for us to obtain this information is contained in our rental application. In many of our locations, we have partnered with local police departments to certify our properties to be crime free. As part of this program, we do require criminal background checks for all applicants. TransGlobe is responsible for the costs of any credit or criminal reports that we require.

Question: Does my deposit have to be submitted in certified funds?
Answer: We require all rental deposits to be submitted in certified funds. This includes Last Month Deposits and Security Deposits depending on provincial legislation for each property.

Question: Will my rental application require a Guarantor?
Answer: We will review your application as submitted. If your application does not meet with our approval criteria, the approving Manager may contact you and request a Guarantor.

Question: Is the information provided on my rental application kept private? Will this information be used for any other purpose?
Answer: As required by law, TransGlobe strictly adheres to our Privacy Policy, details of which are available on our main website www.gotransglobe.com/privacy.aspx.
